Happy 3 Year Anniversary/ The Color Factory
Hello August!
If you know my blog by now, you know that I love exploring museums. Here's a new gem added to the list of museums, The Color Factory. Located in the heart of San Francisco, CA just off of Sutter Street. Not hard to miss because you'll find a building painted with multiple stripes of color and employers welcoming you in dressed in painter suits. Me and Erik thought what better way to spend our third year anniversary, by doing something we both love to do.
Unfortunately The Color Factory is only a temporary pop- up museum for about a month here in SF, so tickets are sold out.(Update: They extended their stay for another month!) But if you hear about it being near a city near you, BUY THOSE TICKETS WELL IN ADVANCE! I luckily heard about the museum in advance and bought those tickets right away. Tickets are sold at $32, probably the most I've spent on a museum ticket. But totally worth the price of admission, I mean seriously adult ball pit!
When you enter the museum the first thing you get to do is of course take a selfie! There are designated areas of cameras to take photos of you're experience, and they are simply sent to your email! The first room you'll get to experience the smells of colors with a scratch n sniff wall, and a conveyor belt to bring out the most yummiest macaroons. How's that for first impressions, it gets even better the following room is colored in black and white and they provide you with a sample of black charcoal lemonade to match the walls of the room. The following sections of the museum you can either enter the green room and doodle with oversized green markers, take selfies under multiple disco balls or simply feel the shade of blue filled within these balloons.
This museum made sure that every wall was covered with some shade of color, including the hallways, stairways and even the restrooms filled with pink whoopee cushions. The following rooms are probably my favorite ones because how interactive these rooms are! Play with colorful confetti or simply sit in a room filled with selfies. Lastly probably everyone's favorite room and of course my favorite is the Yellow Room. The room reminds me of innocence and joy, its a nostalgic feeling of being a kid again and simply enjoying the simple things such as swimming in a ball pit or eating yellow (Vanilla) ice cream. If you like taking selfies in pretty rooms or in search of a museum that's interactive and fun this is the museum for you!
Ciao,
Chrystal
