Hello Readers,

Where has the time gone, its literally a few days before Halloween. You know what that means for this preschool teacher/ student, making costumes, conferences and midterms. In between the chaos I still manage to attend some events and not be a hermit crab. I know you guys are wondering " wait isn't this a travel blog?" well yeah it is actually but it's also a lifestyle one too. Unfortunately this preschool teacher can't afford trips outside of cali until next year. But don't be sadden look forward to local events I attend or places I explore in California.

The Sun and Her Flowers Book Tour

This weekend, I was able to the see the beautiful empowering poet Rupi Kaur. If you don't know who I'm talking about or if your not familiar with her work " Milk and Honey" you've been living under a rock. Besides being Instagram worthy her work has touched millions of girls my age and more through her poetry. Launching her new novel this month " The Sun and Her Flowers" she as well did a book tour.

I was lucky she decided to tour in the bay, tickets we're totally worth the price of admission $30 dollars for the option of entry fee + a copy of her novel or $20 bucks for just entry fee. Unfortunately for some she only did a one day tour in San Francisco making her show Sold Out within a month! Talk about a widespread loyal fan base. Before the show even started doors we're not scheduled to open until 12, this event had a line of beautiful ladies around the block by 11. My first time at the Castro Theatre and one word can describe this theatre: HISTORY! Minor renovations on this theatre but most of the building preserves the remaining of when it was first built.

The Sun and Her Flowers

Rupi Kaur

Rupi's performance was phenomenal, my personal opinion I've always had little interest in poetry. But the way Rupi reinvents poetry for millennials makes it relatable all around. Her work is refreshing and rooting emphasis relatable to women of all ages. Her show reminded me of the vulnerable sides of a women as well as the strong and intellectual sides we forget we also have. If you missed out on book tour. You won't be disappointed when you grab one of her works " Milk and Honey" or " The Sun and Her Flowers". Affordable copies for my hustlin' girls can be found on Amazon for $8-10 bucks! If you need a good pick me up inspiration or simply a new novel this book is made for you!

Until the next adventure.

Ciao,

Chrystal
