Sleepless in Seattle
Hello Loves,
Happy March! Hope you guys are either beginning your spring break or coming back from a wonderful trip. Just landed back in San Francisco last night and couldn't contain my excitement of sharing a post of my amazing trip in " Sleepless Seattle" and Canada. I will dedicate this post to Seattle and there will a separate day trip post for Canada so check that out when you guys get a chance. So Erik and I intended to plan a trip to Hawaii, but unfortunately planned our trip a bit to late this year and couldn't find decent airfare flights so we opted for second choice: Seattle + Canada.
Destination: Pop Culture Museum (Seattle, WA)
Our first stop on our trip was the Pop Culture Museum! Probably the best museum on this trip. Admission prices for Students: $23 Online/ $25 Walk-in, which is a fair price for all the exhibits you get. The museum has 2 floors exhibiting: " Nirvana: Taking Punk to the Masses", "Star Trek: Exploring New Worlds", "Scared to Death", " Wild Blue Angel: Hendrix Abroad", " Science Fiction and Fantasy Hall of Fame", " Infinite Worlds of Science Fiction", " Indie Game Revolution", Fantasy: World Of Myth and Magic". Can you get anymore for that price, this museum became a favorite easily for the variety of genres this museum was made for all ages and a genre made for everyone. One of my favorite exhibits we're the " Scared to Death", not a big fan of being scared, but it was actually really cool to get the scoop and insight of a themed gallery that evokes the unsettling sensations associated with cinematic terror.
Destination: Chihuly Garden and Glass Museum ( Seattle, WA)
Chihuly Garden is the instagram worthy photo op especially in the green house. Besides that note this museum was actually different and interesting than the contemporary art museums I'm used to. Admission: Adults $24, The eight galleries and three Drawing Walls offer a comprehensive collection of Dale Chihuly’s significant series of work. This is honestly a must-visit whenever your in Seattle.
Destination: Pike Place ( Public Market Center) & Seattle's Gum Wall
Besides the awesome museums found in Seattle, did I mention the food is awesome! Seattle been a home away from home, if I we're to describe this beautiful city it's very comparable to the lovely city of San Francisco. The only two different things about these cities is Seattle it has great food and it rains nine out of the twelve months here. So to find some of the best foods head over to Pike Place for that fresh seafood, colorful and vibrant public market filled with vendors that sell only the best items, the first Starbucks, and of course the GROSS gum wall. ( Spent about 3 minutes before I was ready to dip that spot) but do as the tourist do and make your mark by leaving a piece of gum and don't forget to capture the moment.
Destination: Funko HQ (Everett, WA)
If you're a big fan of collecting Funko Vinyl Pop Dolls or honestly life-size figurines of some of your childhood favorite characters welcome to the HQ retail store for FUNKO. 30-40 Minutes aways from the busy downtown of Seattle. This was honestly worth the drive, the only downside once arriving I was a bit disappointed they discontinued their Simpsons line due to licensing but not only that although the warehouse is pretty huge particular ones we're not carried in normal sizes but only in keychains. So if your intentions are to snag your favorite characters don't have high hopes a lot are limited. But the store is sectioned into Marvel Superheroes, Harry Potter, Disney, Star Wars , and a section that carries some of your favorite childhood cartoons.
Destination: Suzzallo Library, University of Washington ( Seattle, WA)
While looking on instagram and doing some research of this place I recently saw this hastag attached #UOFWA, and when I first saw this I thought " UNIVERSITY OF FUCKING WASHINGTON!" but honestly this place should be called Hogwarts. Your probably thinking " visiting a college campus while on spring break, uh no thank you!". While doing some research Suzzallo Library is something worth seeing, come on look at this library. #HOGWARTSVIBES
But to be honest it was actually interesting to visit another state's campus, because this campus would honestly be perfect if only it didn't rain so much. So do as a millennial an capture IG worthy pictures here but please be kind to those studying.
Museum of History and Industry (Seattle, WA)
Last Stop in Seattle is the MOHAI, this was a fun, family-friendly museum if you want the brief scoop of the history and industry of Seattle this is the museum. Admission for students $16, This museum doesn't get particularly crowded so take a walk down history and share it with your friends, signifacant other or family members.
